As an empty nester, your family may be growing, and keeping track of gift ideas for all of your family members may be becoming more of a challenge. Over the last 7 years, I have gained 4 son/daughter-in-laws and 3 granddaughters with a grandson due to arrive in the next few weeks. That’s quite a few more birthdays to recognize than we have had in the past! Thoughtful gift giving is a part of our family culture that I value, but it can be so difficult to come up with ideas!! For the tip of the week this week, I want to encourage you to use the notes app on your phone to keep track of ideas ahead of time. Here’s how:
- Create a folder called “Gift Ideas”
- Create a page within your folder for each person you want to keep track of ideas for
- Whenever you are with them and have a great idea for something they would enjoy, add it to your list!!
Easy peasy! And it makes special events much less stressful when you have a few good ideas tucked away in your back pocket (errrr phone). As the holidays approach we’ll be offering some more gift giving ideas – so stay tuned!
Do you have a different system for keeping track of gift ideas that works for you?? Are there other pain points around gift giving that we can address in the future? Please share in the comments below!
