Now that I don’t have kids living at home with me, I have a few extra beds in my house. Sometimes when people come to stay with me they take the sheets off as they leave and then I get the bed made up right away. Sometimes they leave them on and I wait awhile before I change the sheets. Sometimes one of us plays musical beds and goes and sleeps in another room for what seemed to be a good reason at the time. I want to be an organized hostess. However, these things often leave me confused when it comes time for someone to come stay with me. I don’t know if the sheets on the bed need be to changed or not before they come and so I change them whether they needed it or not – extra work. Not cool. So, the tip of the week this week is to make a little card (mine is folded in half to make it a tent) with your wifi network and password on it. I put that the linens are clean on mine, but I will probably leave that off next time. When I make the bed, I put the tent on it. Anyone who sleeps in the bed will need to move the little card – so you will know that if it’s not there, you need to change the sheets before your guests arrive. It has the added benefit of offering the wifi info to your guests. It has been super helpful to me so I can get my beds made up well ahead of time and still feel confident that the linens are clean when my guests arrive!!
